Cool Down, Power Up: Life Time Adds Cold Plunges to Over 70 Clubs Nationwide
Published on January 31, 2025
Life Time is stepping up its recovery game! The renowned health and wellness brand is introducing cold plunges at more than 70 of its athletic country clubs across the U.S. by summer 2025. This exciting addition aims to enhance the recovery options for its members, complementing the existing 20+ cold plunges and a variety of rejuvenation offerings.
Why Cold Plunges?
Cold plunges are becoming a popular recovery tool, offering numerous health benefits such as:
- Boosting energy
- Alleviating inflammation
- Aiding recovery
According to a recent survey by Life Time, over 43% of respondents expressed interest in trying ice baths and cryotherapy. Danny King, Life Time’s Director of Recovery and Performance, highlights, “Cold-water therapy is one of the most effective ways to recharge your body and mind. Just 30 seconds in a cold plunge can boost your energy, improve your sleep, and build mental resilience.”
Getting Started
For those new to cold plunges, it’s recommended to start with short durations, like 30 seconds, and gradually build up tolerance. King advises, “It’s not about how long you can stay in. We encourage people to talk with our experts to understand the proper techniques and timing to avoid potential risks and achieve the best outcomes.”
Enhanced Recovery Spaces
The cold plunge expansion is part of Life Time’s broader commitment to recovery. Their Rejuvenation Suites already feature saunas, steam rooms, and whirlpools. Additionally, LT Recovery spaces offer Dynamic Stretch programming, hydromassage, cryotherapy beds, compression boots, percussion massage guns, and foam rollers. Life Time also provides a proprietary line of LTH supplements and wellness products to support recovery.
Ongoing Renovations
Life Time continues to enhance its spaces through ongoing renovations of existing athletic country clubs. The rollout of cold plunges is already underway and will extend beyond 2025, benefiting numerous locations nationwide.
